More Orders!

Even though launch of our website has slipped into the New Year we did fill a few more orders in November. We'll try to keep you posted on the progress and launch of CooCube.com in an upcoming post but for now enjoy these photos.

Made with the Forest Friends theme, this sweet set was made for a very special baby shower gift!

And another...a gift to celebrate the addition of a little boy to a growing family!

Another Order

We've fulfilled another order- yay! These cubes were made for a FIRST BIRTHDAY gift!

Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday baby Aidan. We love you.

Today we celebrate the life of our beautiful son Aidan.  Aidan Jeffery was stillborn last year on October 8, 2008.  Born at almost 38 weeks, he was 5 lbs 8 oz and 18 3/4 inches.  He was so still, so silent, so peaceful and so perfect. He immediately warmed our hearts forever.

Even though we had to say goodbye to him before we even got to say hello, baby Aidan has had a most profound impact on our lives. He has taught us to find joy in the little things, to laugh often, to embrace friends and family, to live in the moment and to find hope in the future.

Our First Order!

I just completed my first official order! My friend Stacey threw a baby shower for her sister and she wanted to gift CooCubes. My website isn't officially up yet so I sat with Stacey one night and helped her design her own set. She kept them neutral with the 'Circus Time' theme, spelled 'OBERTO BABY' and included pictures of her family along with the ultrasound picture. What do you think?

I was super excited and really nervous- this is the first time that people other then close friends and family would see them. Would people like CooCubes?

Guess what – they were a hit! She even ended up giving my information to a few people who inquired. So I threw up a quick “coming soon” page. This way I can let people know when I officially open. Hop on over here and check it out.

Thank you Stacey for my FIRST real order!

Moving In...

We spent the summer converting our garage to a studio space! I am SO blessed to have a husband who loves me enough to give up a perfectly suitable space so that I could have a creative studio of my own!!

Here's my husband. Isn't he cute?

I have a little hunch he was motivated by the piles of paper, pencils, paint, fabric, and scissors in “organized” corners all around the house.

The studio is equipped with tables made from reclaimed and recycled wood, handmade by my husband. Pegboards and corkboards and whiteboards - Oh My!

It’s a dream.

So, what’s the idea?

The product is called CooCube. It is a soft block for baby that can be used as a toy, a learning tool and a keepsake. Through a website you'll be able to customize each side of your cube to make it really personal - an alternative to mainstream toys. CooCubes were inspired by a toy that my grandmother hand-made when I was young.

Here's my grandmother. Isn't she cute?

Here is her hand-made creation...

She used to coerce my Pop-Pop into photocopying family pictures onto transfer paper at work. What a rebel. She then stuck them on scrap pieces of wood...and wala!...an exciting idea was born.

Here is a sneak peek at CooCubes...

Hi there.

Hi. I’m Jill. I’m a creative at heart. I love to imagine things in my mind and then make things with my hands...and pencils, paints, scissors, fabric and tape.

I’m a designer by day and a creative junkie by night. I’ve spent the last 2 ½ years working on an idea that combines my love for design and my heart for children. It’s been a really long journey and we are finally set to launch this Fall!

2013 UPDATE:
...I’ve spent the last 5 ½ years working on an idea that combines my love for design and my heart for children. It’s been a really really long journey and we are setting a goal to launch this Fall following an Indiegogo campaign!
